Sunday, May 19, is The Day of Pentecost: Whitsunday. It is the day that we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church. St. Aban's will join Iglesia Episcopal La Esperanza de Familias Unidas, St. Patrick's, and Grace Episcopal, at Grace Episcopal, 405 Glenmar Avenue, to celebrate Pentecost with Holy Eucharist at 10:15 a.m. Following the Eucharist will be the First Great Episcopal Pentecost Picnic! The Collect of the Day sums it up nicely...
Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
