Labor Day Weekend

Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day Weekend!

The office will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day.

The Collect for Labor Day:
Almighty God, you have so linked our lives one with another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives: So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and arouse our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Martin Luther King, Jr. - I Have A Dream - August 28, 1963

Today is the fiftieth anniversary of King's speech during the March on Washington. Martin Luther King, Jr. is commemorated on the Church's calendar on April 4 (or January 15 alternatively). The Collect for his remembrance is:
Almighty God, by the hand of Moses your servant you led your people out of slavery, and made them free at last: Grant that your Church, following the example of your prophet Martin Luther King, may resist oppression in the name of your love, and may secure for all your children the blessed liberty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.
