The vision of SCI (Senior Citizen Initiative) is to establish a coalition and stakeholders to assist Senior Citizens in discovering the joy of fun by engaging their minds, fostering connections, and boosting their well-being through senior activities. 

 

The program is designed to promote and enhance citizen understanding and awareness of the role of the Monroe Police Department within our community. The objective of the presentation is to provide the senior citizens with a basic understanding of the functions of the Monroe Police Department, to encourage greater communication between the Police and the senior community, and to increase understanding of the Law and the Police Officer’s role in the Criminal Justice System.    

 

The presentation for District 1 Senior Citizens will be held on October 24, 2024, from 9:00 a,m -10:30 a.m.  

 

The presentation will cover the following topics:

  

Fire Prevention-----Monroe Fire Department (S. Jones)   

Financial Crimes/Scams against Elderly-----(Det. A. Stadius) 

Traffic Stops and traffic laws-----(Cpl. E. Hollis)  

Crime Stoppers/Don’t Be Afraid-----(Sgt. J. Sanson)
